My Journey with Angels

I used to think angels were either little cherub-like figures or the bigger than life Archangels that blew trumpets and made announcements to mankind. My limited belief changed in 1983 when I had a personal experience with an angel. My eighteen year old sister had been diagnosed with a softball sized brain tumor.  My sister and I were very close. We had shared a bedroom for most of our life, not because we had to (we had our own bedrooms) but because we chose to. It was the eve of my sister’s surgery, and I did not want to leave my little sister alone in her hospital room. Visiting hours had ended and my family had left for the evening. My sister was scared. I was scared. I stepped into the hall so my sister would not see that I was crying. A nurse walked up to me. I was afraid she would ask me to leave since visiting hours had ended. She asked me if I was alright. I cried even harder saying I was scared and didn’t want to leave her alone tonight and I didn’t want my sister to die. She gently put her hand on my shoulder and looked at me with such compassion. She asked me if I wanted to stay with my sister and I nodded yes. I looked at this woman with the gentle voice, soft blue eyes and strawberry blonde hair tied up in a bun. I was so grateful to her to be able to stay with my sister. I looked at her name badge; her name was April.  April said to follow her. She brought me to the nurse’s lounge and gave me a towel and toiletries so I could take a shower. While I showered she would make up the empty bed for me, so I could sleep next to my sister. April didn’t talk much but I felt comforted and safe. I felt that maybe everything would be alright. When I finished showering she was waiting for me outside the nurse’s lounge. She told me it was against the rules to let me use the nurse’s showers and to stay the night but she felt that making an exception in this case was necessary. As I walked beside her back to my sister’s room, I felt stronger as if I could get through this and I could help my sister get through it. At the door to my sis’s room, I turned to April and hugged her. I thanked her for her help. April’s embrace was warm, loving, gentle, and compassionate. It’s really difficult to put into words exactly how I felt when she hugged me. I felt a deep sense, a deep knowing that my sister would be alright.

My sister’s surgery was successful. The tumor was benign! While my sister was in recovery, I went back to the floor where my sister and I had spent last night. I went to the nurse’s station and asked for April. I wanted to thank her for all she had done for me. The nurse said they did not have a nurse on duty last night by the name of April. I asked if maybe April worked on another floor. No, there was no nurse at all by the name of April on any floor or any department. I asked if she may have been a temporary nurse from another hospital. By this point the nurse on duty was getting annoyed and I was told again very adamantly, there was absolutely no nurse on staff or in their database by the name of April and she was definitely not on duty last night!

As I walked away feeling a bit bewildered, I heard a soft, gentle, beautiful voice tell me, “I am an angel.” I was blown away and at the same time it completely resonated with me that April was an angel. No wonder she was so wonderful, compassionate, gentle, loving, sweet and helpful! I thanked God for sending April to me.

The months following my sister’s surgery were difficult. She had to re-learn how to talk, eat, and walk. My sister became a vibrant and healthy teenager. It has been years since her surgery and she has not had a recurrence. As the months and then years went by, I put the experience with my angel April to the back of my mind. That is until a friend gave me the book Angel Therapy by Doreen Virtue. In her book, Doreen channeled the angels and wrote an entire book on the messages the angels gave her.  I have read a number of Doreen Virtue’s books because they resonated so much with my own experience with April and I wanted to learn as much as possible about the angelic realm. I thought that if Doreen could channel angels, why couldn’t I? I bought Doreen’s Archangel Oracle Cards and began my journey of channeling archangels. I would draw a card and ask the archangel on the card to give me a personal message. And they did. I don’t use the Archangel Oracle Cards any longer as I do not need the cards to connect with the angels. They were a wonderful tool for me in the beginning.

Today, I have amazing relationships with angels. I call on the angels all the time for assistance. I continue to learn and grow in my relationships with the angelic realm. I am eternally grateful for the ability to communicate with the angelic realm through channeling.

Angels

Angels are God’s helpers or assistants who are sent to help creation. They are God’s messengers who assist us on our journey. To put it quite simply, they are here to help us. Angels would like to make it clear that they are not to be worshipped and do not usurp God’s power or glory. They do appreciate gratitude for their assistance.

Our Creator gave us free will and therefore, angels will not intervene unless called upon with one exception.  The only time they will intervene without being called upon is to save us from a situation such as a car accident that may end our life before it is our time to go. Angels have attributes or personalities and specialties. For example, Archangel Michael is a protector. If you have fear call on Michael and he will be there to assist you. Actually, Archangel Michael is so much more than a protector. Entire books are written just on Archangel Michael. It is really quite simple; all we have to do is think or say out loud that you need help and instantly you will have the assistance of an angel.

I was driving on a busy freeway and had an uneasy feeling. I asked the angels for help. I was guided to change from the fast lane into the slow lane. Traffic was moving at about 55 mph. All of a sudden the cars ahead of me came to a stop! I had noticed that there was a motorcycle starting to merge into my lane from the right, and heavy traffic was in the lane to my left.  I knew if I slammed on my brakes, the car behind me would hit my car. Then my steering wheel moved and turned the car to the right missing the motorcycle. The cars behind me slammed on their brakes and would have hit my car had my car not turned into the right lane. My son was in the car and said, “Good job. How did you do that?” I turned to him and said, “I didn’t. It wasn’t me who turned the steering wheel. It was Michael.” My son knew I was talking about Archangel Michael – I talk about him all the time. A potentially fatal car accident was averted because I had asked the angels for help. I didn’t specify which one was to help me. I just asked for help. I thanked Archangel Michael for helping not only me but everyone who may have been affected by the accident.

I had the opportunity to work with a woman who dropped by to pick up her son who had spent the day with my son. Her life had become very challenging for well over a year. As I sat and listened to her story, I kept getting the idea to tell her about the angels. I didn’t know if she was spiritual or had a belief in God or angels. I don’t like to push my beliefs on anyone. Finally, I couldn’t ignore the angel that kept telling me to tell her about angels. I asked her if she believed in angels. She said she wasn’t sure. I gently suggested that she call upon the angels to assist her with the challenges she faced. I told her that the angels were there to help her at any time, and any place. The next day she called me. She was blown away by what she had experienced after she left my home. As she drove home, she heard the name Michael in her head three separate times that night. She thought perhaps she was crazy, hearing a voice in her head. She didn’t think much more about it. When she went to bed that night, she heard what sounded like the wings of a massive bird fluttering in her room. Knowing that a bird could not be in her room, she turned on the light and saw Archangel Michael standing in her room. His wingspan took up the entire width of her room. He stood with a magnificent sword, muscular physique, and long hair. She intuitively knew this was an angel. She said that when I told her about angels, she pictured the little, four inch, cherub-like angels that you see in artwork that flit around your shoulders. I told her the angel that came to her in her room was the magnificent Archangel Michael. I call him the rock star of archangels. True to Michael’s personality, he showed himself to her in a huge way, so there would be no mistaking that he was Archangel Michael in all his glory and beauty! Not all angels reveal themselves in such a big way. But my friend needed to see that her idea of an angel didn’t exactly match Archangel Michael. She needed to see him.

The next day my friend was experiencing anxiety as she went jogging. Once again, Michael appeared to her this time riding a white stallion. My friend was quite surprised that he would appear to her again and on a horse! Michael’s response to her questioning was so typical of Michael, he said, “What? Even Archangels get tired!” My friend laughed and continued jogging without the anxiety she had experienced a moment before. Since that encounter she calls on Archangel Michael to help her.

Guardian Angels

I was asked by a client if everyone has a guardian angel. Absolutely, everyone has at least one guardian angel. Guardian angels are assigned to one person/one soul. They are with you at all times and throughout lifetimes. It is their joy and purpose to serve. Many people aren’t aware that they have guardian angels. People do not have to have a conscious awareness of their guardian angel. Their guardian angel can guide through the little voice you hear, your intuition. They may impress a feeling upon you such as a warning to not go down a dangerous street.  It is such an honor to introduce clients to their guardian angels; sharing their name and a description of their personality or attributes and physical characteristics.
